MusicPosted by Jessica Mon, November 11, 2013 12:24:28 My new album The Blue Box by Once There Was has been released. You can find it at a number of places, but why not visit oncetherewas.se for a download or two. You can buy the album from the webshop at that page.
I'm very pleased with the artwork for this release. The photo I've worked with was taken by my father a number of years ago. It saddens me that he's no longer around, and I 'm keeping his memory close in many ways. Writing music is one of these ways.
Some news about my position in Beto Vazquez Infinity:
From now on, due to limited time on my behalf, I'll continue working with the band as a guest singer instead of working with the band as one of their lead vocalists.
This means I'll participate on a much lesser number of tracks on future releases. It also means that despite the lack of time I'm these days constantly experiencing, I will still have the privilege to keep collaborating with this wonderful band, just at a little slower pace.
MusicPosted by Jessica Fri, April 12, 2013 07:34:43 Feeling totally optimistic. At the moment there are five mixed + mastered Once There Was tracks for the next release 'The Blue Box' and it's just so lovely that things are finally starting to happen.
I'm so extremely grateful that there are people helping me with this, it means so much to me. It would definitely be wonderful if 'The Blue Box' would see the light of day 2013, and suddenly I'm starting to believe it might actually happen. 'Where Angels Grow' was released in 2007, so it's been a while since anything happened with my own music.
The music for this release is different to previous releases, calmer and more orchestral. It used to be my niece's favourite album (yeah, I sent my brother some unmixed tracks for him to listen) to fall asleep to when she was a bit younger and I've heard the same phenomenon has been going on for a couple of other children too. That's a good grade, then there should be some sort of nice atmosphere in those tracks, I'm thinking :D
Beto, who I work with in Beto Vazquez Infinity, will appear on 'The Blue Box' with guitars for one track. So, this nice pic of Beto and Tarja could finish this blog entry off. :)
So, this thing with having colds... It sucks when you have a lot to do. I'd need to sing, there are three project waiting for my vocals and it's pretty frustrating not to be able to record for those. I've been sick nearly three weeks now. Quite the cold huh. Let's hope it will start improving soon. I'd need to get more writing done as well, since things outside school is waiting for my attention, but it's been a bit tricky since I don't sleep well at all. Once I'm better my brain will work again I suppose, so let's hope I'll even have some brand new ideas by then.
We recorded a music video for Once There Was on February 12th. A lot of fun, let's hope the result will be nice in the end. It might take some time until the video is out there but that doesn't matter at all.
Some other music stuff, then.
Beto Vazquez Infinity's cd can be bought at their webshop, and a track for which I recorded the vocals - Goddess of the Sea - can be heard here.
Finally, the new release with Factory of Dreams - Some Kind of Poetic Destruction - can be preordered from the label's website. It will be available in other stores as well, but the street date for the release is on May 7th, so preorder the album if you want it before then. You can only preorder it from that particular website.
MusicPosted by Jessica Thu, January 10, 2013 15:57:01 A video for my own music, Once There Was, has a location and a date for recording now. It might take a while to tweak around with it after the shoot, so people won't be able to see it for a while, but the video will be shot on February 12th and hopefully things will turn out well.
At the moment we're preparing a bit. Light is needed, for which we luckily have a guy who'll help us out who knows much more about such stuff than us ( = my boyfriend and I), and hopefully someone will be able to help with hair and make-up but otherwise I hope I'll manage to look decent or at least acceptable ^^ Don't know what clothes to wear but I have some stuff to choose from so it shouldn't be a problem. Perhaps we'll get a hold on someone who could perform the violin part of the song, but if not we'll still get the shots that are most necessary.
The song needs mixing, too, and it seems like that part has solved thanks to my brother who has mixed a lot of my other music.
MusicPosted by Jessica Mon, November 26, 2012 17:23:57 Seems like I'm finally done with the vocal recordings for Factory of Dreams fourth album!
Things have taken some time this time around, life is very busy and then you don't always have the chance to work as fast as you'd like to do. So, it feels great to finally be done. Also it's sometimes a bit stressful to have the recording equipment in your home, that way I feel I should always be available somehow. Which is just me putting pressure on myself I guess. And it definitely is great to be able to record in your flat instead of having to go someplace else.
